Cemetery in the Sea – The Death Place of Over 4,000 People

The issues in Syria have been more apparent recently than ever before, so much so, that many have been forced to escape. However with limited access out, thousands of refugees were left with not many options, therefore putting them in the dangerous position of crossing the Mediterranean Sea.

While some Syrians were able to make it to Europe, others could not handle the journey, many of which were children. In an effort to remember the 4,000+ people who died during the voyage, Support to Life and TBWA\ISTANBUL collaborated to create The Sea Cemetery.
In the campaign announcement they said, “The more people respond to our campaign, the less this sea cemetery will grow. And, even if it’s just a drop in the ocean, it’s a support to life.”
