Father Arrested for Forcing 14-Year-Old Daughter to Marry Rapist Who Impregnated Her

A father from Idaho has been arrested and sentenced to jail time after he forced his underage daughter to marry her rapist. According to reports, Keith Strawn will serve 120 days in jail for the act.

He was convicted of one felony count of causing injury to a child, after he took the teen girl out of state and forced her to marry the 24-year-old man who raped her. Apparently he did so after he discovered that the rape had resulted in a pregnancy.

“While you spend those 120 days in jail, perhaps you will think about the 120 days your daughter was in a vile face of a marriage to a rapist,” Judge Greg Moeller told Strawn during the sentencing.

The 24-year-old, identified as Aaron Seaton, was convicted and sentenced to 15-years in prison for the rape.

According to reports, the girl later suffered a miscarriage.

Although Strawn later admitted that what he did to his daughter was wrong, he said “if you get them pregnant, then you marry them.”

He also said “I love my daughter very much and I would never do anything to intentionally harm her or put her in harm’s way. I made the wrong decision, and I made that decision in duress.”

Strawn’s defense team said that the decision was religiously motivated.

The marriage occurred in August of 2015, when Strawn took his daughter and Seaton to Missouri in order to consent to their marriage.
